BioPay Leadership to Outline Its Biometric Payment Service to Industry Leaders

bCheck Will Allow Consumers to Pay for Purchases Without Cash or Checks

Tim Robinson, president and founder of BioPay, LLC, and John McNally, BioPay chief technology officer, will outline the company's new bCheck biometric payment service during two speaking engagements later this month. bCheck will be available to merchants across the United States by the end of the year and allow consumers to pay for purchases with the touch of their finger.

Tim Robinson will speak at the Mid-America Payments Exchange Conference on September 9, in Kansas City, Missouri and John McNally will be speaking to attendees at the 2002 Biometric Consortium Conference in Crystal City, Virginia on September 24.

"It's a privilege to present to such distinguished audiences. It gives BioPay the opportunity to reach decision makers that understand the importance of adopting advanced, but proven, technology," said Tim Robinson. "By the end of the presentations, attendees will know that bCheck builds upon the significant accomplishments of our Paycheck Secure system to give merchants the power to substantially reduce losses and payment processing costs and increase revenue while giving customers valued convenience and added personal security."

BioPay recently reached significant milestones, including:

  • Verifying one million transactions. BioPay's Paycheck Secure biometric identification check cashing system has been used to initiate and verify over one million financial transactions. This milestone occurred on August 4, 2002 at Duthler Family Food in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
  • Increasing consumer demand. To date, more than 200,000 consumers have voluntarily enrolled in Paycheck Secure to take advantage of the system's convenience and security.
  • Growing merchant demand. The Paycheck Secure system is now being used by more than 200 merchants, with one or more lanes or locations, in 22 states across the country.

The company also has the largest commercial electronic biometric database in the United States.
